I heard a British guy who is an advisor to Parliament...

...speaking about this as a guest on a local talk radio show here in Richmond this morning. He said that Putin has already lost, regardless of how much real estate he captures. This guy basically said that as soon as Ukraine resisted the takeover for more than 48 hours, it was a signal that Putin can never truly "win" Ukraine. He said that the Ukrainian people are clearly un-governable by Putin, so the question becomes - what does Putin do when he reaches that conclusion? Does he go on a genocidal rampage and continue to occupy the country? Or does he exact as much damage as possible to cripple Ukraine and then withdraw from the territories that have resisted?

Regardless, it's heartbreaking to see how evil some human beings are.
